Dripping, falling
Raindrops calling
Rolling down the glass
Thunderclouds will pass

Pitter patter
Naught’s the matter
I'm dancing in the rain
They think I’ve gone insane

Grumble mumble
Thunder rumble
Drums beat, as a song
Come and dance along

Let raindrops wash away your pain
Throw away that walking cane
Just try dancing in the rain
Come dancing in the rain.
Just digging through my old writing and found this. It's probably my favorite poem I've ever written. I'm trying to persuade myself to write more often, so I'll post more old stuff just to at least think about it. Enjoy?

edit: I had to fix the meter. :]

absolutely beautiful, i love the rain and you've done a good job in portraying it's beauty. it seems to have the early formation of a meter, but it doesnt have that flow, at least not the first stanza, i think the last lineof the first stanza break up that flow that gets going in the first three lines of the stanza. maybe thats what you're looking to do, maybe not.

:) Thank you very much! Yeah, I was trying to break up the meter, but it didn't really come across as well as I had intended.

I figured it was something of the like. shakespeare does the same ish think in sonnet 29, but he skips a step in the rhyme scheme in line 8. thinking about it, if you broke the rhyme scheme at the end of the first stanza, that might create the seperation you were going for.
